Connections:

What connections can you make between the book and your life, the real world, other literature, media, etc.?

I can relate to Liesel in a few ways. First, I sometimes read good books multiple times because I like the story and the theme. Second, some books mean more to me than just the story. Like her gravedigging book, books from my childhood represent memories rather than the story inside.

I think that the relationship between Rosa and Liesel is alike to that of a teacher and a student, but you have to take out all of the unnecessary language. I believe that like Rosa, who deep down does care about Liesel, is like a teacher, they give their students a lot of homework, but they do it for the benefit for the student so that the student can rise to their full potential. Rosa gives Liesel chores to make her independent and strong.

I feel the same as Brennan about books. I do read good books over and over again, like Liesel, always revealing new things about the book that I never would have noticed without reading and rereading.
