I think that this is a very humbling book. We live in a world full of iPods and cell phone, but Liesel lived when you were not always sure if you would go to bed with a full stomach. I have really enjoyed it so far and I think it is phenomenally written.
I think this book is depressing but also reveals truths about life and human value. It shows how you can change someone's life by helping them with their problems. It also shows the strength present when you share a hardship with another person.
I agree with Brennan's second comment. I think the only way we can fully understand human value is by death and this book really shows what I believe is love between Liesel and the rest of her family and friends.
